Trip Planning & River Orientation on the National Water Trail

Are you excited to paddle on the St. Louis River Estuary this summer, or curious about where to begin? Join St. Louis River Alliance and Minnesota Sea Grant for a free River Orientation and Trip Planning event on Thursday, April 9, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. CT.

This event will equip you with the information and tools you need for a safe and successful outing on the St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail. Participants will learn about local access points, safety considerations, weather planning, route selections, and basic gear recommendations! Minnesota Sea Grant will cover the importance of flexibility when planning trips, how to fill out a float plan, and discuss drowning hotspots around the estuary.

All attendees will receive a free St. Louis River Estuary National Water Trail map to follow along during the presentation. Bring your questions and leave with greater knowledge, confidence, and resources to plan your next river adventure.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged.

This event is made possible through generous financial support from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the city of Duluth.
