Outreach Materials

Each May, boatloads of Duluth-Superior area sixth-graders travel through the St. Louis RiverQuest, a dozen hands-on educational stations aboard the Vista Star and in South Pioneer Hall at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. They learn about the St. Louis River ecosystem and related commercial, industrial and recreational activities. Since 1993, Minnesota Sea Grant has participated in the St. Louis River Quest by hosting learning stations focused on one or more of our extension programs. In May 2025, MNSG introduced the St. Louis River Exploration Map to allow students to interact with the history and conservation of the St. Louis River and St. Louis River Estuary.
