January Twin Ports Climate Conversations

TPCC invites you to kick off the New Year at their January Climate Conversation in learning how winters are getting warmer in the western Lake Superior coastal region on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. 

Attendees will explore the latest climate observations and trends, including changing winter precipitation. This event will also discuss how these changes are affecting different parts of our community.

This will be an in-person panel presentation. Representatives from public works, recreation, and social services will discuss how the changing climate, especially warming winters, is impacting their work in these sectors.

This webinar is free to attend, but advance registration is required. 

Speakers

  • Kenny Blumenfeld, Ph.D., Minnesota State Climate Office Senior Climatologist & University of Minnesota Dept. of Soil, Water, and Climate Adjunct Assistant Professor
    • Kenneth ("Kenny") Blumenfeld is a climate scientist with a deep love for the outdoors and a passion for observing storms, especially blizzards. As senior climatologist for the state, he provides up-to-date scientific information about Minnesota’s changing and variable climate to agencies, communities, and citizens. Blumenfeld enjoys sharing and hearing weather stories long after the workday is done.
