Building Flood Resilience and Nonpoint Source Pollution Literacy with Watershed Stakeholders Using the New Coast Model of the Watershed Game

The North Central Region Water Network is hosting the Climate Intersections Conference July 12-14, 2022, in Duluth, Minnesota to connect water, climate, and natural resource professionals and help increase the scope and positive impact of their water outreach and research efforts.

Minnesota Sea Grant Stormwater Extension Educator Maggie Karschnia and MNSG Water Resource Management and Policy Extension Educator John Bilotta will present Building Flood Resilience and Nonpoint Source Pollution Literacy with Watershed Stakeholders Using the New Coast Model of the Watershed Game. This session will include a demonstration play of the new Coast Model of the MNSG Watershed Game and a discussion on how participants can use the Coast Model for their education and community engagement programs.

The new Coast Model of the Watershed Game helps community leaders and stakeholders understand how their land and water management choices can affect community resilience to flooding and the quality of water resources.
