East Carolina University, in partnership with Minnesota Sea Grant and North Carolina Sea Grant, is hosting a Watershed Game Train-the-Trainer workshop. This workshop will focus on the new Coast Model for local leaders, which reflects critical coastal issues including water quality and flooding.
Workshop participants at this train-the-trainer workshop will learn how the Watershed Game can be used to engage their audiences and help meet education, planning, or program objectives. An overview of the classroom version will be provided along with supportive materials. Participants will leave ready to facilitate game play with their audiences.
Spots are limited to 25. The workshop includes training to lead the Coast Model of the Watershed Game for both the Local Leader Version, as well as an overview of the Classroom Version. Light snacks and beverages provided, as well as an optional dinner with additional training opportunity afterwards.
One FREE copy of the Watershed Game will be offered to organizations that have 3 or more staff attend the training. East Carolina University and North Carolina Sea Grant will also have a copy that can be loaned out for events.
The Watershed Game is a nationally used interactive educational tool that helps students and local leaders understand the connection between land use and water quality. The game is used in more than 24 states and more than 700 games are in circulation.
This event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required.
