Meet Minnesota's winter aquatic insects and learn about their important role in winter stream food webs at the Belwin Midwinter Family Fun event, February 3, 2024, in Afton, Minnesota. 

Minnesota Sea Grant's Bugs Below Zero project team will be hosting an interactive insect demonstration that connects weather, streams, aquatic insects, and fish. Adults, kids, students, and families are welcome to attend.

Connect with insect and fish researchers associated with the Bugs Below Zero project, and learn about how you can participate in citizen science activities to contribute to stream conservation and winter ecology.

Bugs Below Zero was developed to show avid trout fishers, teachers, and K-12 students the importance of winter stream food webs and how they can be involved in community science to contribute to stream conservation and winter ecology research.
