What I do for Sea Grant

I work on the United States Geological Survey (USGS)-funded project "Tracing Atmospherically Deposited PFAS from Source to Sediment." I will collaborate with Minnesota Sea Grant and the Natural Resources Research Institute to investigate sources and tracers of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in precipitation. I will also investigate if there are PFAS in precipitation that we can use to trace how that PFAS moves through rivers, streams, and other hydrologic systems. Our analysis will use new data and existing data from the National Atmospheric Deposition Program, the USGS, and the Great Lakes Sediment Surveillance Program.
