Wisconsin and Minnesota Aquaculture Conference

Registration is now open for the 2024 Wisconsin and Minnesota Aquaculture Conference. This conference is an opportunity for current aquaculture practitioners, new farmers, educators, and the public to learn about aquaculture including current research and management practices, educational and economic initiatives, and more. This year's conference includes tours of various local facilities (including the UWSP NADF, Red Cliff Tribal Hatchery, Red Cliff Fish Company and Bodin’s processing facility), over 40 diverse and knowledgeable presenters from across the region, and the opportunity to participate in an additional Recirculating Aquaculture Systems workshop* for a small fee.

*The Recirculating Aquaculture Systems workshop will be held at the UWSP NADF facility on Saturday, March 23 from 8:00 a.m. to noon in collaboration with Ed Aneshansley, Aquatic Design Services, LLC. This workshop is an additional $100.00 in addition to conference costs and will be concurrent with Saturday's conference sessions. Registration
Registration is required. COST: $125.00 General Admission, $80 Students. Includes: WI or MN Aquaculture Association Annual Membership, two lunches, snacks, "Taste of the North" evening social, and tours of local facilities. All participants are required to pay their own accommodation and travel expenses.

Travel Assistance to Underrepresented Groups:
The Sea Grant Great Lakes Aquaculture Collaborative (GLAC) will provide reimbursement funds for students, current or potential producers, and speakers from historically excluded or underrepresented groups to attend and/or present at this conference. View our flier to learn more.

  • Amy Schrank, MNSG extension program leader and fisheries and aquaculture extension educator, will be moderating a panel discussing farming insights.
  • Don Schreiner, MNSG fisheries specialist, will be moderating and presenting this year.
