PFAS Information Needs: Duluth Urban Watershed Advisory Committee

This per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) centric meeting of the Duluth Urban Watershed Advisory Committee will be co-hosted by Dr. Alexander Frie of MN Sea Grant and Samantha McClung of the University of Minnesota-Duluth Water Resources Science Graduate Program.

The goal of this meeting will be to gather information from regulators and resource managers to better understand their information needs around PFAS. Information from this meeting will be used to help develop outreach products addressing the importance of PFAS sources, fate, and transport.

Participants will have the opportunity to share their needs and concerns regarding PFAS. Our hope is to gather information and produce an outreach product that could benefit regulators and resource managers in their professional role. To help us prepare for this meeting, please complete our brief PFAS survey. Regulators and resource managers are invited to complete the survey even they won’t be able to attend the meeting.

This outreach effort is part of a larger project aimed at investigating the sources, fate, and transport of PFAS in the environment. Specifically, we will be investigating the relative importance and potential tracers of atmospherically deposited PFAS. Learn more about our USGS funded project.
