Trimming Our Sails 2021

Registration:

Two workshop opportunities: July 28, 2021, and August 4, 2021.

Advance registration is required. You will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the workshop after registering.

Description:

Take a deep dive with Sea Grant this summer. Workshop participants will investigate maritime underwater shipwrecks and learn how aquatic invasive species impact water quality, food webs, and shipwrecks. The workshops are an excellent program for both novice and seasoned educators. They are open to any educator, student, researcher, or community scientist in Minnesota or Wisconsin. Both workshops also provide suggestions for classroom applications and a chance to share and network with other education professionals. Registration is required and you may participate in one of both workshops.

This workshop is brought to you through a partnership between Minnesota and Wisconsin Sea Grant Programs and supports Minnesota Sea Grant's Center for Great Lakes Literacy project and Educator Resources Program.

Speakers:

Tamara Thomsen, maritime archaeologist, photographer, researcher, and research diver.

Ashley Elgin, scientist and benthic ecologist, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
