Summer Coastal Hazards of Superior (CHAOS) Meeting

Description:

All our welcome to join the next Coastal Hazards of Superior (CHAOS) community of practice meeting to learn more about relocating homes and other structures. During the meeting we will hear from three speakers; David Mickleson, who will discuss the local geology and bluff erosion processes affecting Wisconsin's shoreline of Lake Superior, including first views of some oblique images taken in May 2022 by the Wisconsin Wing of the Civil Air Patrol; Jane Bucy, who will share her personal experience in house moving as a response to an actively eroding bluff; and Tammie DeVooght Blaney, who will discuss the benefits of structure moving, the structure moving process, and how to find and work with a mover. There will also be opportunities for audience participation and Q&A.

Tammie DeVooght Blaney, executive director, International Association of Structural Movers.
