Summer Coastal Hazards of Superior (CHAOS) Meeting

Description:

Join us for our summer Coastal Hazards of Superior Community of Practice (CHAOS) meeting where we will learn about the Digital Coast and the Saxon Harbor restoration. Guest speakers Rebecca Nicodemus and Brandon Krumwiede from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Office for Coastal Management will share how Digital Coast can be used by Lake Superior communities and professionals. They will highlight the available tools, data and training resources on Digital Coast that can support coastal resiliency and hazard mitigation. Guest speaker Eric Peterson, forest administrator from Iron County, Wisconsin will share the story of Saxon Harbor's recovery and restoration after extensive storm damages in 2016.

CHAOS is a community focused on sharing and learning about the natural hazards that affect Lake Superior's coastal communities. This event supports Minnesota Sea Grant's CHAOS project.
