Description:

David Drake, professor and extension wildlife specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison started a project-specific iNaturalist page in 2015 to collect the public's sightings of coyotes and red foxes in the Madison, Wisconsin area. Drake's presentation will describe the type of iNaturalist data collected and how it is used for improved canid management. Canids are carnivorous mammals, such as domestic dogs, wolves, coyotes, foxes, jackals, and dingoes. Scientists of the University Urban Canid Project have been studying urban coyotes and red foxes in Madison since 2014.
