Description

  • Workshop goal: The goal of this workshop is to gather input on the next steps for the Minnesota Sea Grant (MNSG) project Identifying Drowning Hotspots in the St. Louis River Estuary.
  • Project goal: The goal of the MNSG project Identifying Drowning Hotspots in the St. Louis River Estuary is to prevent future drownings in the estuary.
  • Project methods:
    • Characterize historical drowning locations and potential drowning areas under current and future conditions.
    • Forecast imminent drowning "hotspots."
    • Increase water safety knowledge among those who recreate in the St. Louis River Estuary.

Who should attend?

  • This event is for anyone who:
    • Is interested in learning about the Minnesota Sea Grant project Identifying Drowning Hotspots in the St. Louis River Estuary.
    • Would like to participate in data collection efforts.
    • Can help researchers compile data on water rescue incidents within the St. Louis River.
