What I do

As a 2025 Minnesota Sea Grant Science & Policy Fellow, I will work with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to identify critical pathways, gaps in understanding and priority concerns for aquatic invasive species management in Minnesota. My work is intended to develop an integrated lake management approach for aquatic invasive species in the state.

Biography

I am a water scientist with a strong emphasis on aquatic ecology and limnology. My master's research focused on determining how Great Lakes phytoplankton communities respond to fluctuations in nutrients and temperature, with an emphasis on harmful algal bloom-forming species. Prior to completing my masters, I spent 3 years working on a variety of projects including stream monitoring and restoration, inland lake monitoring, Lake Superior algal bloom experiments and public outreach and education events.
