Joseph (Joe) Lane is an assistant professor in the University of Minnesota's Department of Geography and Philosophy, which is housed in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. As MNSG's Spring 2026 Faculty Fellow, he will work with Great Lakes Transportation Extension Educator Kelsey Prihoda on a project to understand community perceptions of dredged material.

Understanding Perspectives on Dredged Material Management

Minnesota Sea Grant is leading a 2026 study to understand how western Lake Superior communities, natural resource managers, and industries perceive the use of dredged material and identify opportunities and challenges for future dredged material management in our port.
