Twin Ports Climate Conversations (TPCC) invites you to its second event of 2026 on Tuesday, April 21, starting at noon.
This month’s conversation looks at the opportunities and challenges northeast Minnesota might face as changing weather patterns affect economic and community needs. Many organizations in the region are developing or updating strategic plans. This talk explores how place‑based economic policy can inform those discussions as communities respond to changing conditions and rising costs.
State agencies, tribal nations, regional organizations, and private industry have produced research, plans, and community stories that consider these issues. These include case studies, lived experiences, climate vulnerability assessments, adaptation plans, long‑range community strategies, and more.
In this session, Galen Treuer, Ph.D, will share his perspective on how changing conditions may intersect with regional planning efforts and community priorities. He will offer a brief talk followed by a moderated Q&A, posing questions about opportunities and challenges the region may face in the years ahead.
This free event is open to the public. Registration is required.
