Minnesota Sea Grant at the 2025 STEM Education Conference

Minnesota Sea Grant (MNSG) extension educators Heidi Ferris and Julia Grenn will lead two breakout sessions at the 2025 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Education Conference, hosted by MINNdependent on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
 
The "Aquaponics in the Classroom with MNSG" session from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. will provide an overview of the Aquaculture Challenge, an interdisciplinary science competition for high school students that tasks teams to design, construct, and monitor a tabletop aquaponics system. 
 
The "Amp Up Impact - Aquaculture & Great Lakes Education Resources" session from 10:50 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. will explore a variety of hands-on and online resources such as kits, maps, tools, research and educational resources for aquaculture and Great Lakes learning.

The conference will bring together educators, STEM specialists, and school leaders to share insights, new resources, and innovative ideas for educators to bring back to their school to promote learning and engagement for students. Educators can earn continuing education units (CEUs) by attending this conference.
