The Minnesota Lake Lookout invites water quality professionals and Lake Association Members to join us for a webinar on April 21, at 10:30 a.m. CT, to learn about an upcoming community science volunteer initiative designed to enhance our understanding of chloride impacts on Minnesota lakes.
The program includes a project overview presented by Hilarie Sorensen of Minnesota Sea Grant, followed by a presentation by Hilary Dugan, Ph.D., associate professor at the Center for Limnology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
This webinar is the first in a virtual training series where participants will gain a deeper understanding of two water quality challenges facing rural Minnesota lakes and learn how to join a growing network of volunteers dedicated to monitoring chloride and harmful algal blooms. Whether representing a lake association, a Soil and Water Conservation District, a state agency, or a tribal natural resource department, community involvement is crucial to the success of this initiative.
Attendance is free and open to the public. Registration is required to attend.
