Minnesota Sea Grant is hosting a workshop called “Experience Aquaculture at the University of Minnesota” as part of the 2025 National Science Teachers Association Conference. Transportation will be provided from the conference to and from the Minnesota Sea Grant (MNSG) Aquaculture Lab.
Participants will tour the MNSG Aquaculture Lab, where MNSG grows fish. After the tour, participants will complete an engineering and design challenge to build a model aquaponic system and learn about MNSG educator resources. Participants will learn about aquaculture, which is the farming of aquatic organisms, and how it is a growing industry across Minnesota and the Great Lakes basin.
Registration is required for this free workshop. Space is limited to 15 attendees, with preference given to educators from Great Lakes states.
