The Coastal Hazards of Superior (CHAOS) team invites you to their field trip to visit Brighton Beach post-restoration on Tuesday, September 16, at 2:00 p.m. CDT.
This field trip follows the CHAOS trip to Brighton Beach pre-restoration in 2022. Participants will learn about how the city of Duluth addressed storm damage through improvements to the shoreline and updates to the existing infrastructure and what monitoring and maintenance are taking place. Following the tour, participants will have time to connect with fellow CHAOS members and discuss the tour and how it can inform participants' coastal resilience work.
CHAOS is a community of practice established in 2020 to address coastal hazards along the Minnesota and Wisconsin coasts of Lake Superior. The goal of the group is to build coastal resilience by sharing resources and fostering collaboration between members.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required by September 12. Space is limited to 24 attendees.
