2018 Invasive Species Conference
Celebrating Milestones: Building a legacy for the future

The 2018 Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference biennial conference will co-host the largest invasive species conference in North America along with the North American Invasive Species Management Association in Rochester, Minnesota.

The four-day conference is open to the public and will provide opportunities to network with natural resource professionals, researchers, business representatives, land managers, nonprofits, lakeshore property owners and land owners. Conference events include plenary and topical sessions, posters, exhibits, workshops and field trips.

International and national invasive species experts will be available at news conference at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15 in room 101 of the Mayo Civic Center and will be followed by an invasive species eradication demonstration at the Rochester City Hall., 201 4th Street SE in Rochester.

“Management of invasive species is a hot topic across the Upper Midwest and nationally,” said Minnesota Sea Grant Aquatic Invasive Species Program Coordinator Doug Jensen. “The conference will introduce cutting-edge, innovative technology and successes in management, prevention, control and eradication of invasive species locally to internationally.”

UMISC is celebrating 10 years and NAISMA is celebrating 25 years of improving invasive species management, outreach, research, and policy.

Minnesota Sea Grant is a UMISC conference “prevention sponsor.”
