Alworth Institute International Lecture Series: The Kristianstad Vattenrike - Learning from the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Model

Tom Beery, Resilience Specialist, Minnesota Sea Grant, will present an overview of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Biosphere Reserve. These areas provide critical learning sites for sustainable development. The presentation will highlight unique aspects of both the Kristianstad Vattenrike and the Swedish approach to the biosphere reserve program. Tom will briefly share his research conducted in the Vattenrike investigating questions of biodiversity conservation and public experience of nature.
