The Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) and the Regional Stormwater Protection Team (RSPT) will host a truckload sale of Systern Rain Barrels and Earth Machine Composters on Saturday, May 17 at the lower east parking lot at Lake Superior College.

Sales are first come first served; Master Card, Visa or check only. WLSSD staff and RSPT members will be present at the event to help answer questions about composting and rain water catchment.

The 55 gallon SYSTERN rain barrels will be available for $55/unit (tax included, a value of over $120!). The SYSTERN can be placed under any downspout to collect water for use in yards and gardens. Each SYSTERN is designed with a screen to keep water free of debris and mosquitoes.

The Earth Machine compost bin will be available for $45/unit (tax included, a value of over $100!). When assembled, the bin holds up to 80 gallons (10.5 cubic feet) of compostable material. There are no moving parts - compost turning is done by hand.
