The United States Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) and the Great Lakes Commission (GLC) invite professionals to Managing and Understanding Sediments in Your Watershed, a FREE short course that delves into erosion and sedimentation in rivers and watersheds.

Sediment is a leading source of pollution in waterways, impacting water quality, aquatic habitat, recreational opportunities and aesthetic conditions. The workshop will look at where sediment comes from, what impact it has on aquatic resources, and which methods and tools can be used for assessing, monitoring, and managing sediment in a river system.

To register, email your name, title, organization name, mailing address, phone, and e-mail contact information to Michael Schneider of the Great Lakes Commission at michaels@glc.org. An e-mail confirmation with additional information will be sent to you after your registration request is received. You must register by Friday, July 20, 2012.

For additional information, visit www.glc.org/tributary or contact Michael Schneider by phone at 734-971-9135 or by email at michaels@glc.org.
