New Climate Change Portal Serves Lake Superior Region

Minnesota Sea Grant (MNSG) opens its new regional climate portal this week, just as NOAA - the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – recently announced its global climate service.

Responding to high demand for accurate information on climate change in the Lake Superior region, MNSG’s new portal offers climate science, technical reports, mitigation strategies, adaptation measures and links to popular Web sites with such activities as a carbon footprint assessment tool for kids.

People and communities in Minnesota and around the Lake Superior Basin should be planning for a different environment over the next century. Change brings opportunities with it as well.

Climate science is constantly being refined and the way people apply what is known needs to remain fluid. You can expect frequent additions and changes to this climate portal.
