Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Open House

Doug Jensen, Minnesota Sea Grant's Aquatic Invasive Species Program Coordinator, will host an information table on Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers!TM and aquatic invasive species.

The goal of the event is to engage stakeholders in a discussion on aquatic invasive species prevention, seek their feedback on current strategies, get input on new ideas, and look at opportunities for local partnerships.

Prior to the event, a two-hour focus group session will be held with up to fifteen invited participants. A two-hour Open House for the public will follow. Location TBA. The open house will feature Invasive Species, Regulation and Enforcement, Local Level Partnership Opportunities and Watercraft Inspection and Education. Free information will be provided. As visitors pass by tables, they can view "pickled" specimen of sea lamprey, zebra mussels, Eurasian milfoil and other harmful invasive species.
